Nestor Maslej is an AI strategist and researcher working at the intersection of technology, business, and public policy. He is the founder and CEO of Nestor Maslej Consulting Inc., which helps organizations adopt AI in ways that drive productivity while emphasizing safety and responsible use.
Previously, Nestor served as Editor-in-Chief of the AI Index at Stanford's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), where he helped build the Index into one of the world’s most widely cited reports on AI. He continues to work with Stanford HAI as a Research Associate and is a co-author of the International AI Safety Report (2026). He has also taught courses at Stanford on AI trends and deployment.
Nestor has advised senior leaders at organizations including Goldman Sachs, Accenture, Mastercard, IBM, McKinsey & Company, BCG, and Citibank. His research has been cited by governments and international organizations such as the United States, the European Union, and the OECD, and featured in outlets including The New York Times, Financial Times, Bloomberg, and The Guardian. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI).
He holds an MPhil in Comparative Government from Oxford (Distinction) and an A.B. in Social Studies from Harvard (Magna Cum Laude, PBK).
